This event was organised by Marcel & Joyce van Barneveld-de Bont. The idea
was started on the Yahoo internetgroup where a discussion was going on to
arrange a small meeting in autumn 2002 for these members. Marcel & Joyce, who own 2 SD1 3500 VandenPlas, took the discussion at hand and arranged a small drive of 45 km through the countryside in the middle of Holland where Cothen is located.
Before this drive took place the members of the Yahoogroup could met each
other on the parking area in front of the "Dorpshuis" in Cothen. Some of them knew each other already, and all cars could be shown from the outside as well as under the hood.

Our guests from Luxembourg arrived a few hours later due to a broken alternator on the way to Cothen.
After the countryside drive, where some puzzles and a proof driving
backwards were included, we had a small lunch and a video of racing SD1's
was shown on the telly. Afterwards there were prices to give away for the best and worst puzzler and driver. A give away present for the SD1 owners and a special photo of your
SD1 while driving in the countryside but these had to be posted afterwards
due to a broken machine at the photographers.
Everybody had a lot of fun this day and went happy home. Some asks Marcel & Joyce if there would be another SD1 event next year.
