Our club member John Straten owns this SD1 in heavily tuned form. Well...we can all recognise the loved V-8, but the rest...........? And gone is the wood, the leather seats.....no comfort at all!!!.... everything is offered in the name of.....SPEED!! Eeehm?.....what's in this Rover boot?.....well the deep well is nicely filled with an aluminium tank...and way back you can see a pump which pumps the oil from the differential through an additional oil cooler.....No, no....yours (probably) doesn't need this stuff. I love pics like this.....note the heat insulation wrapped around the exhaust manifold to prevent the heat to enter the engine bay. You can also see the oil pump for the dry-sump system driven by a large belt. We hope the car will show many competitors it's impressive tail!
